1. General Information

• Tournament Date: Saturday, October 5th

• Location: Press Paws Cat Cafe, 1109 Summer Street, Burlington, IA 52601

• Check-In: All players must check in 15 minutes before the start of their first race. Late check-ins may result in disqualification.

• Eligibility: Open to all ages, though players under 18 must have parental consent.

• Maximum Participants: 16 players

• $5 to play

2. Equipment

• Platform: Nintendo 64

• Game: Mario Kart 64

• Controllers: Controllers will be provided.

3. Tournament Structure

• Format: Double Elimination Bracket

• Rounds:

  • Round 1: 16 players (4 races, 4 players per race)

  • Round 2: 8 players (2 races, 4 players per race)

  • Final Round: 4 players (3 races to determine the winner)

• Advancement: The top 2 players from each race advance to the next round based on points.

4. Game Rules

• Race Settings:

  • Speed: 150cc

  • Items: Normal

  • Courses: Round 1: Royal Raceway, Round 2: Kalimari Desert, Round 3: Rainbow Road

  • Character Selection: Players can choose their characters. In case of a tie, coin flips will determine character priority.

  • Points:

    • 1st Place: 9 points

    • 2nd Place: 6 points

    • 3rd Place: 3 points

    • 4th Place: 1 point

• Prohibited: Glitches that skip sections of the course or laps. Shortcuts that are part of normal gameplay are allowed.

5. Conduct and Fair Play

• Behavior: Unsportsmanlike conduct, including excessive trash-talking or disruptive behavior, will result in disqualification.

• Glitches: Any player using banned glitches will forfeit that race.

• No Pausing: Once a race begins, pausing is not allowed.

6. Prizes

• 1st Place: $50 & Press Paws Custom Merch

• 2nd Place: $25

• 3rd Place: Press Paws merchandise
